Bride and bridesmaid dresses at Ann Taylor
Few things give me a greater thrill than discount shopping. I love finding a gem at a bargain and with a wedding to plan and shop for, this gives me the perfect opportunity to put my hunting skills to the test.
In addition to shopping at all the classic places to get wedding attire, I’ve begun searching in places that don’t often spring to mind when most folks think of weddings. When two of my all time favorite discount stores closed their businesses last year– Filene’s Basement and Daffy’s– I turned my attention to Burlington coat factory and Marshalls/TJ Maxx. While browsing at these two discounters, I’ve already come up with several great looks, none of which cost over $49.99.
My wedding colors are black, ivory and pink so these two dresses instantly caught my eye as maid of honor potentials.
This black dress is sexy and yet still a bit demure. I can totally see my maid of honor rocking this little number.
I love the sheer panel neck line and the illusion of it being strapless. I’m going for a body con look that can be worn beyond my wedding.
This blue number caught my eye and I thought it was a perfect spring time bridesmaid look. This dress retails for around $44.99 and is a great option for someone with a bigger wedding party who is trying to keep costs down.
If you’ve every moved in your life you know it’s an experience wedged somewhere between insanity and hell. Well try moving in New York City, in the middle of a Hurricane Sandy and the ensuing gas crisis she caused. The insanity part, well that’s just life in New York. The hell part…well I blame Sandy. Think I’m over exaggerating? You try moving your stuff four bags at a time on the subway during rush hour! Yes folks, welcome to my world. I promise it gets better from here!
